Privacy policy
This explains what Bidcarwin records when you use the public site, and what it does not.

What we record
When you run a search we store the search term, whether it matched anything, how many records it matched, the interface language, and the time. We use this to find gaps in the archive — most usefully, which vehicles people look for and we do not have.
We store a one-way hash of the IP address rather than the address itself. The hash lets us apply rate limits and spot abuse; it cannot be turned back into an IP address.
We store a shortened form of the browser user-agent string for the same reason.
What we do not do
We keep this deliberately narrow.
- No advertising and no advertising trackers.
- No analytics products that profile visitors across sites.
- No selling or sharing of search data.
- No account is needed, and the public site sets no tracking cookies.
If you contact us
If you send a correction or removal request, we keep what you send — including the email address you give — for as long as it takes to handle the request and to show why a record was changed.
Vehicle data and personal data
Auction records describe vehicles, not people. We do not publish names, addresses or contact details of former owners. If you believe a record identifies you personally, tell us and we will review it.
Administrative access
The administration area is separate from the public site, requires a password, and its actions are logged so changes to records can be traced.
